The University of Baltimore is a campus undergoing a rapid transformation. We're doubling the size of the campus infrastructure—adding a new center for the School of Law; a privately-funded building for student housing, and more. In the past few years we've completed an award-winning Student Center and a new home for much of the Yale Gordon College of Arts and Sciences and the Schaefer Center for Public Policy in a rehabilitated structure known as the Liberal Arts and Policy Building. We've added a Barnes & Noble bookstore, new classrooms, laboratories and offices, and made major technological innovations—all to make education and research more convenient and efficient.
The University also supports one of the city's most successful private developments of the past decade: The Fitzgerald at UB Midtown, a residential and retail project built by The Bozzuto Group on a UB-owned parcel located between the campus and the Maryland Institute College of Art.
The campus is growing. By 2012, it is expected to be home to 8,000 students. Innovative academic programs, in areas such as real estate and economic development, the digital entertainment industry, and immigration law, are helping Baltimore and the surrounding region meet the requirements of a changing economy. UB is positioned to be among Maryland's finest urban campuses, public or private.
