Volunteer Opportunities

Giving your time is giving back.

The UB Alumni Association encourages alumni participation in campus-wide programs and activities. If you are interested in volunteering at UB, please contact the Office of Alumni Relations. Learn more about individual volunteer opportunities below or view a summary of the ways you can get involved!

  • Backpack to Briefcase

The Backpack to Briefcase (B2B) program brings UB alumni back into the classroom to share their experiences with students. Alumni provide students with career options and advice specific to their programs of study. For more information, contact Samantha Davis at sdavis@ubalt.edu or Sabrina Viscomi at sviscomi@ubalt.edu or 410.837.4385.

  • Community Service Day

Each year, hundreds of students, faculty, staff and alumni volunteer a day of their time, creating positive change in communities throughout the Greater Baltimore region. Volunteer groups travel to more than a dozen service sites -- beautifying neighborhoods, rehabbing houses, repainting schools, mentoring youth, providing food to those in need, and more. For more information, contact Anthony Butler at abutler@ubalt.edu or 410.837.5419.

  • Development Committee

The committee’s goal is to establish a stronger tradition of alumni giving by raising the profile and prominence of the alumni community while providing a financial benefit to current and future students. This committee reaches out to peers to build alumni support by increasing annual giving participation rates.  For more information, contact Kate Crimmins at kcrimmins@ubalt.edu or 410.837.6135.

  • Education Week

Organized by the Student Events Board, alumni volunteers will participate on an informational panel to discuss career options and share advice with students about their respective programs. For more information, contact Sabrina Viscomi at sviscomi@ubalt.edu or 410.837.4385.
