Our campus is very well situated. UB is one mile from downtown Baltimore with its businesses and stadiums, and right in the middle of the city's vibrant cultural district. The symphony, theaters, museums, an opera house and grand architecture, as well as the hip Station North Arts & Entertainment District, make up the fabric around the University of Baltimore.

Penn Station is America's eighth busiest train and transit station. It's a breeze to take trains to Washington, D.C., Philadelphia, New York, Boston and other destinations along the nation's northeast corridor. MARC trains offer inexpensive rides to Washington.

Neighborhoods around UB are widely credited with having some of the best architecture in the United States. Bold, beautiful buildings and monuments are all around. Baltimore's Washington Monument is the highlight of a quaint park, and also a hub for citywide festivals, fairs and even the occasional wedding reception. The monument's holiday lighting in December is always special, as is the Flower Mart each spring.

Charles Street, Baltimore's historic "main street," is UB's handy commercial thoroughfare. This lovely corridor is brimming with unique places to eat, shop, and relax. There are many ethnic restaurants as well as American themed eateries ranging from expensive to quite reasonable. Your grocery needs are also just steps away from campus. On weekends, nearby farmers marketswelcome those who like farm to table food.

There is always an opportunity for entertainment on and around the UB campus. Occasionally, UB Midtown becomes the center stage for the entire city. Gatherings such as Artscape, the Baltimore Book Festival, the Greek festival, St. Patrick's Day festivities, Flower Mart - they all add a bit of spice to everyday life around UB. The Baltimore Marathon and Tour dem Parks bicycling event also find their way to our part of town as well.

Popular with UB students is the free Charm City Circulator. The circulator bus arrives about every 12 minutes during main hours. Students pick up the Purple Line at Penn Station and take it to Mount Vernon, downtown, the Inner Harbor, stadiums, and Federal Hill.

UB has a great gymnasium and intramural sports, but if you're looking for some exercise off campus or out in nature, the Jones Falls Trail is a great option only a few yards from us. The trail runs parallel to the Jones Falls stream for much of its route. If you are lucky, you might see the beautiful yellow-crowned night herons that make the stream their home. The Jones Falls Trail connects with Druid Hill Park, home of the Baltimore Zoo and an 18-hole disc golf course, as well as a spur to The Johns Hopkins University. Trail extensions are under construction to the Inner Harbor, where it will intersect with the 14-mile Gwynns Falls Trail. Really, it's a hiker biker's paradise.
